PDP scribe debunks claim of plan to disrupt Akpabuyo by-election

The State Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Mr. Tony Edako has described the recent claim by the chairman of Akpabuyo Local Government Council that PDP is planning to disrupt the elections as mere ‘crying wolves’ when there is none. He said the allegation is fake news.

Mr. Edako made the statement while fielding questions from a LENS Reporter in his office in Calabar on Monday, February 21.

He disclosed that PDP has put every mechanism in place to checkmate rigging and role manipulation by the opposing contenders in the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency and Akpabuyo State Constituency Polls, assuring that the candidates of the party would emerge victoriously.

Edako seized the opportunity to condole with the family of late Hon. Elizabeth Ironbar, a former member representing Akpabuyo State Constituency will be buried on Friday, February 25, 2022.

He, therefore, called for calm and orderly behaviours by all PDP faithful’s as counseled by the Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike at the just concluded mega rally held at the Calabar Sports Club notwithstanding the stun aimed at stopping the event.
