PFN Cross River inaugurates new executive council

The Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), a bloc in Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Cross River State on Sunday May 7, inaugurated new officers into her executive council with Apostle Dr. Trinity Ogar as chairman.

The event which held at Gold City Gospel Ministry International, Calabar in Cross River State with the National Inauguration Chairman, Archibong Joseph Ojo delivering his message to attendees from the book of Acts 9:20-30 “and said that no matter what you preach most people don’t believe God”, the representative of the umbrella body of Christian churches in Nigeria said.

He explained that when God through his son, Jesus Christ had his earthly ministry many didn’t believe him except a few and prayed that may the ministry of the people of God not be terminated even as he commended them for a job well done.

The newly inaugurated PFN chairman in Cross River State, Dr. Trinity Ogar said “Leading the entire Pentecostals in Cross River State is a very big shoe that someone has to wear but I believe that with God on our side we are going to deliver.”

“As a matter of fact, we are going to take the fellowship a little further, we are sure that we have done credibly well for the past eight years and don’t be amazed that I served in the past administration as the Deputy Chairman so I think I have an idea where there are pitfalls, mistakes and errors, so we can correct those errors first, I believe that experience plus wisdom and grace would help us to excel”.

Speaking to newsmen in an interview Dr. Trinity’s predecessor, Dr. Lawrence Ekwok expressed satisfaction with the massive support he received from the leaders and members for the past eight years which enabled him to set a good record for his administration saying “we were just being modest not to mention certain things but it is on record and is veritable that what we did had not been done before. That happened because of the support we had, people were supporting us with their money with their times and everything” and concluded that “if you are transparent, you will earn support from people once they do not doubt you intentions”.

Pastor Akomaye Ugar the senior pastor of Honey-Streams Global Ministry gave a vote of thanks and commended the past administration for their strides and focused commitment amidst the enormous challenges.

The Executives are; Apostle (Dr.) Trinity Ogar-Chairman, Pastor (Mrs.) Peace Ogar-Chairperson Women’s wing, Apostle Frank Umo-Deputy, Pastor Akamaye Ugar-General Secretary, Apostle Gloria Ukott-Treasurer.

Dr. David Yosef Effiom- Financial Secretary, Pastor Nemi Ekefre-welfare Director, Rev Festus Afabe-Assistant Secretary, Bro Andrew Ndifon- Publicity Secretary Rev (Mrs.) Vivian Edet-Assistant Welfare Director, Minister Jonah Funbunwhe-Assistant Publicity Secretary, Rev Aniekan Udo-Assistant Treasurer.

Highpoint of the inauguration ceremony was prayers of intercession for good leadership and God’s guidance to pilot the fellowship, praise and worship choir ministration, musical renditions, preaching and presentation of award of excellence to the immediate past chairman-Dr Lawrence Ekwok among others.
