Political pressure group endorses return of President Tinubu, Governor Otu in 2027
As the rave of endorsement of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu to continue in office beyond 2027 continues to surge, a political pressure group, Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON) has accentuated the call in their endorsement rally held at the U. J. Esuene Stadium on Wednesday May 28th 2025 in honour of their Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Bassey Edet Otu.
The event which congregated a huge number of CRISPON members across the seven local government councils in the Southern Senatorial District of the state, featured cultural display and musical rendition by a cultural group from Odukpani council area of the state.
In their separate speeches, the seven local government area coordinators of the group eulogized the sterling qualities of Senator Bassey Edet Otu whom they acknowledged has through his People First Mantra revolutionized infrastructural development in the state since assumption of office in May 29, 2023. And on this pedestal, unanimously endorsed him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to return to office in 2027.
Senator Bassey Edet Otu who was emotional in his response to Special Adviser to the Governor and Director General (DG) of CRISPON, Dr. Prince Michael Nku Abuo, JP appeal for him to continue beyond 2027 in office, appreciated the group’s vision and promised to continue to transform Cross River State in unity and sustainable development.
Deputy Director General (DG) of the Southern Senatorial District of CRISPON, Princess Okuawan Effiom Okon, State Secretary – Comrade Eta Ekong Eta and Director of Welfare, Comrade Effiong Akiba vowed to replicate the synergy to return Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu back to office through mobilization at the grassroot.
Dignitaries at the occasion include Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Peter Odey, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, members of the State House of Assembly and members of the State Executive Council among others, witnessed the grand reception organized by CRISPON in the state.
