Quantity Surveyors brainstorm on use of tools in construction management

Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, the construction cost managers have proffered solution to issues in the industry to rob-off on service delivery. They underscored in their discourse the need for prudence in construction management.

The body at a 2 day technical training on the use of bim tools with BESMM4R Standard and ICMS3 for effective projects delivery as theme of the gathering held from 13th to 14th June, 2024 at Gomays Plaza, No: 90 Atekong Drive, Calabar, Cross River State, disclosed that modern technology would address some technical elements that often impede adhering to best practices in the profession.

Speaking to a LENS Reporter at the end of the event, Quantity Surveyor Victor Owoeyeoce of the Department of Physical Planning, University of Calabar, a spokesman of the group advised developers of structures to always consult Quantity Surveyor to offer professional insight before venturing into any construction project to avoid errors thereafter as well as adhering to international best practices in service delivery using appropriate building materials to avoid building collapse now prevalent in the county.

A seasoned quantity surveyor and executive member of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) Calabar Zone, QS Freeborn Akpororo was one of the dignitaries at the event among several others.
