Residents commend NDDC for completing Ekeng Abia rd. project in Calabar
Residents of Ekeng Abia Street in Calabar South Local Government Area in Cross River State are elated as the once erosion gully prone road leading to the Henshaw Town Beach Market has been completed by the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The street which once had the former Catholic Arc Bishop of Calabar Late Bishop Brian Usanga was a death trap with gully prescient but now wears a new look and is motorable prompting a resident, Comrade Peterborough Clarkson to commend the government intervention agency for coming to their aid and the contractor who has done a good job.
Speaking with a LENS Reporter on Friday, November 18, 2022, a chieftain of the Henshaw Town Clan Council who spoke on condition of anonymity appealed to NDDC to also consider the dilapidated Inyang Ekeng Street where the Henshaw Town Clan Council built in 1901 is situated and appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Obong Umana Okon Umana as Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to oversee activities of the NDDC.
Another resident, Mr. Oyo used the occasion to appeal for the provision of concrete slabs over the drainage on the shoulder of the road to enable car owners on the street to drive in and out of their houses.
