Residents scamper for safety as fuel tanker explode in Ikom 

A truck ladened with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as fuel has exploded into flames opposite County Specialist Hospital, Calabar-Ikom highway, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The fire broke out in the evening of today causing panicin the area.

Firefighters have not been sight at the scene as at the time of filing this report as residents and business owners scamper for safety. Shops, electric facilities and other properties around the area are already paying the price of the inferno.

The incident has caused slow in traffic along the Calabar- Ikom highway with concern the fire may spread into nearby fuel stations, hotels and supermarkets in the area.

As of the time of filling this report, Newsmen can not ascertain the cause of the fire and if there is any casualty.
