Rivers Governor declares Dagogo wanted for allegedly disrupting PDP governorship screening
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has declared a member of the House of Representatives and governorship aspirant in the state, Farah Dagogo wanted for allegedly masterminding the disruption of screening of aspirants for various electives positions at the Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt.
In a statement through his Special Assistant on Media Kelvin Ebiri, Governor Wike directed the State Police Command to arrest Dagogo for allegedly sponsoring cultists to disrupt the screening.
Reacting to the directive, the lawmaker, who represents Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency at the lower house of the National Assembly said he is not a cultist and did not send anyone to disrupt the screening.
In a statement through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Dagogo expressed dismay that the Governor labeled him as the sponsor of cultists in order to stop the screening of Governorship aspirants, scheduled for Thursday, 28th of April.
Dagogo has called on the Inspector-General of Police to direct the State Commissioner of Police not to heed the directive issued by Governor Wike but expressed willingness to make himself available if invited by the police, after the screening and not before.
