Rivers governor places N100m bounty on criminal gang responsible for DPO’s death as police comb Ahoada for culprit

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State has declared prime suspect, Gift David Okpara Okpolowu (a.k.a. 2-Baba) and gang members wanted for the murder of a Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako.

Fubara announced one hundred million naira bounty on prime suspect for anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest and prosecution.

He also announced the suspension of Ahoada East traditional ruler, His Majesty, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi indefinitely for acts of complicity in ceding control of his territory to the notorious David Gift and his gang to freely operate and carry out their criminal activities.

The governor described SP Bako as a fine, brave and dutiful police officer, who gave up his life to keep the people safe and secure, adding that SP Bako died in active service to his nation and he is remembered for his extraordinary bravery and sacrifice.

Cultists on Friday killed and beheaded Bako in an ambush in a forest within Odumude Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area, an area notable for cult-related activities.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has moved into Ahoada, heavily, to fish out the killers of Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim.

The team led by the Commissioner of Police in the State, Nwonyi Emeka, arrived the community on Saturday morning. He said the command would soonest in a planned show of force storm criminal hideouts in the area, vowing to get justice on the killing of its brave and award-winning SP Bako.
