Rivers PDP Campaign Council: Atiku, Ayu photos missing from campaign posters as Wike mute a change in voting pattern in 2023
Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has explained the omission of the pictures of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar from the party’s campaign posters in the state.
Wike accused Atiku Abubakar of disrespecting him by picking the state’s PDP presidential campaign nominees without his contribution warning that those who disrespect the State and its electoral importance, do not deserve votes from Rivers State in the 2023.
The governor made the claim while inaugurating the PDP campaign council and the launching of the party’s governorship campaign office in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
He added that Atiku selected “enemies” of Rivers into his campaign council for the 2023 general election.
Wike stressed that the photos of Atiku and those of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, have been missing from the state’s PDP campaign materials because they don’t want him to campaign for the party at the national level.
The Governor who decried how the State had been treated in the past despite the bulk votes delivered to the PDP since 1999, told the newly inaugurated members of the PDP campaign council to be ready for a change and not what they have been used to in previous elections.
