Senate President, Speaker visits Tinubu after inauguration

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and his deputy Jibril Barau were at the State House Tuesday to meet President Bola Tinubu after their inauguration.

Also, the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas and his deputy Benjamin Kalu visited Aso villa to meet President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The All Progressives Congress National Working Committee had endorsed Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abass as preferred candidates of the party for President and Speakership positions respecively.

Consequently, two other aspirants, Orji Uzor-Kalu (APC Abia and also a former governor and Osita Izunaso (APC Imo), had stepped down from the contest following persuasions from both the Party and the President.
