Senate receives initial 28-person shortlist of Tinubu’s ministerial nominees; Ex-Governors El-Rufai, Umahi, Wike in

The Nigerian Senate at plenary Thursday announced the first batch of 28 ministerial nominees from President Tinubu’s much anticipated List of Ministers Designate.

The list containing names of Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-Rufai and other past governors as well as some prominent names was presented to the President of the Senate by the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Although the portfolio of the nominees were not stated in President Tinubu’s Communication, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio said that additional nominations will be sent to the senate later.

However, the President of the Senate did not mention when the Ministers Designate will be screened.
