Senator Bassey Otu takes over from Senator Ben Ayade as Cross River governor

Senator Prince Bassey Otu was formally inaugurated Monday, May 29 at the UJ Esuene stadium as the governor of Cross River state.

The former governor Ben Ayade during his valedictory speech before handing over power to Sen. Bassey Otu said he was able to survive due to divine ingenuity, knowing that the state received the least federal allocation, sometimes N800m.

He apologized for any wrongdoing while praying for his successor to succeed. “Where I have failed, support Otu to succeed,” he said.
