Senior Pastor, daughter kidnapped; lifeless body found along road in Calabar

The Senior Pastor of Word Alive Church Calabar, Reverend Mike Obiora, and his daughter have been kidnapped.

The kidnap is said to have taken place at Atu Street,  Calabar South Local Government Area, a stone throw from his church when unknown gun men whisked him and his daughter away in the night of Thursday, September 21, 2023.

In another development, an unidentified man believed to be in his 30s has been found lifeless along the Eta Agbor road in Calabar.

Business owners in the area in the early hours of Friday expressed shock at the incident as they whispered in groups what may have led to his death.

When contacted on the two incidents, the  Police Public Relations Officer in Cross River State, SP Irene Ugbo said she is not aware as the kidnap case has not been reported.

She also said the same about the lifeless body but said the various Divisions covering Atu and Etagbor areas would be contacted for situation reports.
