“Shun political differences, join hands to fight the country’s challenges”_ President’s aide

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita S. Enang, has noted that the challenges of insecurity, struggling economy and unemployment faced in the country was enough for all, irrespective of political leaning, to come together to tackled these challenges.

He made this plea while speaking with Journalists on the celebration of 22years of unbroken democracy in Nigeria, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Center Information Drive, Uyo Akwa Ibom State, Friday.

He charged all political parties in the country to downplay politicking and work together in order to tackle the challenges confronting the country.

“The challenges of insecurity, economy, unemployment and other matters have become so tense and have become so big that political parties should downplay political actions and uplay the issue of managing security situation in the country.

“I therefore call on PDP, APC and other political parties to sink all differences at the federal government level, state level and local government levels so that we can join hands together with the federal government to tackle insecurity and economy.

The Senior Special Adviser said it was time for him to bury his political differences with Governor Udom Emmanuel and work with him adding that politicking can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace

“A lot of people will be surprised that I will come and not speak about Governor, Udom Emmanuel and the PDP administration in Akwa Ibom State.

“It’s time for me to work together, stay together, abandon all differences, sink political opinion averse to each other and work together with the government of Akwa Ibom State

“You can only have a state to politick in, a country to politick in, when there is peace. We can contest election and talk what is right or wrong, when there is pease in a state or a country. At this stage we are challenged and when we are challenged all will have to join hands together.
