Tetfund launches initiative – Tetfair for Academics, Researchers in Nigerian universities
An initiative that will help academics and researchers in transforming their ideas in research into prototypes for commercialisation purposes has been introduced.
The Tetfund Alliance for Innovative research initiative seeks to ensure that academics and research solutions are encouraged for National and Global use.
Over time, research activities have been hindered by the lack of funding, human resources, policy, and infrastructure. These challenges have further deepened the poor performance of Nigeria in creativity and Innovation limiting good contributions to National development.
This is about to change with the introduction of the Tetfund fund Alliance for Innovative Research Initiative for academicians and researchers in Nigerian universities.
Tetfair is a program that will create a platform for researchers and academicians in Nigerian universities to transform their ideas into market-driven Solutions through three broad dramatic areas of science technology, and Innovation for one year.
At an event in Abuja, speakers admitted that Nigeria’s educational system is evolving and with this funding is needed.
The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke says intervention in funding the university system is important.
Several selected categories in Agriculture, food and technology, agriculture, food technology, environment and energy, security, and a few others will be the focus of participants.
