‘The governor’s aide has gone too far’_ Eket Senatorial aspirant
The management of ASUK AKA TV has said that no amount of intimidation, be it directly or by proxy would make it depart from carrying out it functions in line with international best practices.
In a statement signed by Atuekong Paul Bassey and Mr Henshaw Nyong, Managing Director and General Manager respectively, and made available to journalists in Uyo, the organization frowned at what it described as a ‘half cooked’ story allegedly fabricated by one of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s aide, Mr Aniekeme Finbarr, purporting that it major client, Akparawa Ephriam Inyaneyen, the immediate past Chief of Staff to the governor and a frontline Senatorial aspirant for the Eket Senatorial district has now declared support for Umoh Eno the establishment’s preferred aspirant.
Tagged ‘Shenanigan Taken Too Far’, the statement read: “We have seen Udom’s aide; Mr Aniekeme Finbarr ‘half cooked’ story, where he wished our brand ASUK AKA could be forced to support Umo Eno.
“However, we make bold to state empathically that the picture was taken sometime in August 2020, when Mr Finbarr and other members of the then Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang Media Team, converged at the Dakadda Secretariat, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, to handover to Prof. Eno Ibanga, who was appointed as Works Commissioner.
“That, after the handing over ceremony, precisely August 6, 2020, Mr. Finbarr accompanied Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, alongside other aides of Governor Udom Emmanuel to Government House (Inyang-Eyen’s new office), where they all celebrated and wined with Inyang-Eyen as Chief of Staff to the Governor.
“That, ASUK AKA TV is baffled and cannot imagine why the governor would send his aide to post a picture that was snapped on August 6, 2020, and used same to misinform the public.
“That, we find the governor’s post through his aide, as a depletion of an idea to market his imposed governorship aspirant, Pastor Umo Eno, to the media community in particular and Akwa Ibom people in general.
“That, ASUK AKA TV will never be bought or coerced by anybody; be it by proxy, or any group and organisation.
“That, ASUK AKA will continue to be unbiased, impartial and operate according to International Best Practice”.
