“There is life after life” cleric says at funeral mass of fmr. PAMOL CEO
The officiating Priest at the funeral mass in honour of late Etinyin Emmanuel Archibong Effiom Bassey, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pamol Nigeria Ltd/Dn-Tyre &Ruber Plc, Rev (Fr.) Cletus Udoh has said that there is “life after life” in a homily he delivered on Friday at St. Patrick’s’ Parish, St. Patrick’s college, Ikot Ansa, Calabar.
Referencing John 14:1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me, in my Father’s House are many mansions; if it not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare for you, And if I go and prepare for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also, And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know,” he posited that all those who die in Christ shall have a resting place with God after physical death inferring that having been baptized in Christ Jesus we were baptized in His death; so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the father’s Glory, we too would live a new life in union with Christ.
In order words according to him, we have imitated His death, we shall also imitate Him in His resurrection because our former selves have been crucified with Him to destroy this canal body and set us free from slavery of sin. But we believe that having been raised from the dead, we will never die again but have everlasting life with Christ in God’s kingdom.
