Tinubu’s endorsement by Eno energizes support base
A group, the Tinubu Disciples, has hailed Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his support and endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for second term in office.
National Coordinator of the group, Prince Koyoyo Uhrorho, in a statement described the governor’s endorsement as a step in the right direction.
It said it was a testament to the character of the governor, despite not being in the same political party and not sharing the same religious faith with the president.
“Ongoing projects across the nation is a testament to President Bola Tinubu’s detribalized character and nature, and that, regardless of political and religious divides, culture and ethnicity.
“President Tinubu is a man focused on delivering and promoting economic and infrastructure development across the nation, and it is only befitting to allow President Tinubu to complete the good works he has started as rightly stated by the governor,” Uhrorho said.
And while soliciting support for the President towards the 2027 general elections, Uhrorho called on others, regardless of party affiliation, to support the President to deliver on his mandate.
He said only a man with the character and strong will of Tinubu could steer the nation in the right direction.
Recall Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has openly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term reelection bid in the upcoming 2027 general election in defiance of a directive by the Presidency for campaigners to stop doing so for the President more than two years to the end of his first tenure in office.
Eno while speaking at a public event recently, stressed his commitment to transparency and consistency in his political stance, making it clear that he stands firmly behind the President’s re-election.
“I don’t know how to speak from two sides of the mouth,” the governor said. “The other day, I said I was going to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. People asked, ‘Ahh, why did you say so?’ Yet in the night, they go there and tell Baba, ‘We will support you,’ and in the afternoon, they do another thing.”
Governor Eno maintained that his endorsement was personal and grounded in his conviction about the President’s leadership. “I am supporting Baba Ahmed Tinubu for second term. When the time comes, I will tell you the reason. The time has not come yet. When I tell you the reason, you will know. But let me keep it first,” he stated.
