UCTH DA condemns comment faulting professorial elevation of Cross River commissioner
The Director of Administration University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Barrister Ededet Eyoma has condemned the outburst of the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Forestry Security, Mr. Joseph Obi for faulting the promotion of the Commissioner for Aviation in Cross River Jake Otu Enyia to associate professor.
Recall the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Forestry Security, Mr. Joseph Obi through a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi faulted the elevation of the Commissioner for Aviation in Cross River Jake Otu Enyia to associate professor.
Obi premised his reservation on the grounds that due process was not followed citing articles 3.9 Sub (3) and 3.11 Sub (1) of the University of Calabar condition of service rules.

In a correspondence with LENS Friday, Eyoma said, “He has published many scholarly articles in many journals, local and international. He has consistently supervised post graduate students at both Masters and PhD levels.
“Dr. Jake Otu Enya’s credentials, experience and commitment to scholarship are the requirements for the promotion of lecturers in universities worldwide”.
And buttressing further on Enya’s eligibility, he said, “At least I met Enya as a PhD holder in 2014 in the Faculty when I was admitted to read LLM. He thought us three post graduate courses then. He has persistently contributed to scholarship and has been progressing consistently because of hard work”.
Eyoma who said “Obi lacks what to complain of,” adviced him to desist from character assassination and destruction of the person of Dr. Jake Enya who is a very good and committed lecturer.
