Unidentified foreigh nationale escapes robbery in Cross River

A yet-to-be-identified foreign national has survived an assassination attempt by unknown gunmen encountered around the Rubber plantation vicinity along Uyanga, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.

According to an eye witness, a Prado SUV jeep conveying a foreign national with number plate EKY 777 HT on Monday, November 14 was attacked but navigated its way into Cheriezk filling station while the vehicle tires were in taters and the car perforated with bullets.

It is suspected that the assailants were kidnappers who were after the foreign national to kidnap him for ransom.

The second occupant of the vehicle was said to have escaped to safety and calls made to the police to ascertain the story as well as get detailed information was not forthcoming as at the time of filing this report.
