Valentine is for Agape not Erotic Love_Pastor Mike Ugbaja
As the world celebrates valentine’s day on February 14, 2022, being an annual event, some clergy have condemned the erotic version implied to it.
The Resident Minister of House of Grace Church in Calabar Pastor Mike Ugbaja has said though it originates from the Catholic Church, its global footprint has eroded the original theme as projected by St. Francis of Assisi who made the supreme sacrifice for love.
In their contributions, Pastor Mark Uko who spoke for Apostle Daniel Archibong of the Land of Divine Grace Church Inc, and Pastor (Ambassador) Ugochukwu Ogu of Sweet Communion Ministries International, Calabar opined that though lovers have the right to renew their erotic vows on valentine day it is not biblical as Christ paid the supreme prize for mankind referencing John 15:13 “Greater love has no man, that he should lay down his life for his friends.”
Against the backdrop of this biblical injunction, they admonished the people to live a life of sacrifice and selfless love towards one another.
