Youth Commissioner distributes personal protection gadgets to trainees in Calabar
The Cross River State Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition Hon. Barr. Ijom Ukam has presented Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to trainees at 11 Millennium Park in Calabar, Cross River State.
The initiative aimed at providing work place safety for the trainees also encourage them to continue their diligent efforts to acquire skills for a better tomorrow, fight unemployment and cub youth restiveness and banditry in the state.
Speaking at the event, the trainer and Cross River State Ambassador who doubles as Managing Director of Benco Welding & Fabrication Work, Bernard S. Jessey thanked the Honourable Commissioner for the gesture and promised the trainees proper impartation in fabrication and allied skills to drive of season of sweetness and People First Mantra administration of His Excellency, Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
Youths drawn from different Local Government Areas of Cross River State are currently undergoing training in Stanchion, installation, steel Roofing, water project, pipeline Networking and General Metal working along-side trainees from West African School of Fabrication and Construction in synergy with Benco Welding & Fabrication Work in Calabar in a scheme aimed to empower youths to gain employment into industries in the state and also become employers of labour to boost the economy.
