Youth leader mute victory for APC Cross River Southern Senatorial candidate
The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Party in the 2023 general elections for Cross River Southern Senatorial District, Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong jnr. has been predicted to emerge victorious in the dicey struggle by the three contending party’s candidates, APC, PDP, and Labour Party (LP).
Mr. Edet Ekpenyong Edet, youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 11, Calabar South Local Government Area said in a chat with LENS Reporter on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, that since Mr. Ekpenyong Jnr. who is the immediate past commissioner of Finance in Governor Ayade administration as well as a son-in-law to former Governor Donald Duke would likely be victorious at the poll in 2023.
He hinged his forecast on the influence of the former governor whom he described as a scion of high chief Asuquo Ekpenyong, the owner of Davandy group, managers of Ekondo Micro-Finance bank, and Channel View hotel.
Edet drummed support for other APC candidates including the presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu; the governorship candidate Sen.(Prince) Bassey Otu; House of Representative candidate for Calabar South, Akpabuyo and Bakassi Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Bassey; the candidate of Calabar South 1 State Constituency and Calabar South 11 State Constituency of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Effiong Ekarika and Mr Victor Ekpenyong Nsa.
While kicking against the incidents of vote buying, he appealed for a level playing ground. The front runners his principal Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. will be contesting the Southern Senatorial slot in the 2023 general elections are Ntufam Ekpo Okon of PDP and Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo aka DASUKI
