YPP commissions Okobo chapter office, receives over 400 PDP defectors

The chapter office of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Okobo Local Government Area was inaugurated Tuesday 23rd August in Okopedi, headquarters of the Council Area by the state chairman, Pastor Nyenjime Andy.

While welcoming the guests at the event, the YPP chapter chairman, Bisung Ekpenyong assured the Okobo people that all the candidates of the YPP will deliver on their campaign promises and urged them to rally support for the party in the forthcoming elections in 2023.

Andy thanked the elders, the youths, and the women for coming out to receive the YPP bigwigs. He said that coming to Okobo to inaugurate the chapter office was in fulfillment of the promise he made on the assumption office as chairman that he would go round the local areas to inaugurate the party offices, and that he was happy that he began the process in Okobo.

And after the commissioning of the party secretariat Apostle, Andy received over 400 defectors to the party and presented some of them with party membership cards.

The immediate past chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Okobo Local Government Area, Hon. Maurice Finbarr, who was one of the defectors to YPP thanked the state working committee of the party for the reception accorded them. He expressed the confidence that “YPP will offer fresh leadership to the people of Akwa Ibom State”.

Hon. (Engr.) Odiong, a former House of Assembly member from Okobo, in his votes of thanks appreciated attendees and assured all that the YPP is poised to provide effective leadership to the people post general election in 2023.

The gubernatorial candidate of the YPP, Distinguished Senator (Obong) Bassey Albert Akpan who thanked the party for the confidence reposed in him and his running mate, IG Asuquo Amba, urged all party faithful to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to be eligible to vote in next year’s general elections and assured them of quality leadership if the party wins in 2023.
