YPP deputy governor assures A’Ibom people of better days if elected
The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), AIG Asuquo Amba, has promised to change the fortunes of the State for the better if the party wins the governorship election in 2023.
He gave this assurance when he received an audience at Akwa Ibom Unity Forum in Uyo who paid him a familiarisation visit, Wednesday.
He stressed the resolve of the OBA/AMBA joint ticket to rescue Akwa Ibom State from its current situation of the high level of unemployment, poverty, and low-level self-esteem, promising to support his Principal, Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) as Governor come 2023.
Earlier, the Director General of the group, Mr Uko Idiong, thanked God for the choice of AIG Amba which he described as divine, and lauded the incoming Deputy Governor for his integrity and good antecedents while serving the nation in various capacities.
He commended Amba for his enormous contributions to Akwa Ibom State, expressing the optimism that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear in fostering peace and security in the State in 2023.
Retired AIG Amba was at various times the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Commissioner of Police before becoming the Assistant inspector general of Police.
Also speaking, the BOT Chairman of the group, Mr Charles Ndanyongmong, equally eulogised the incoming Deputy Governor for his goodwill and love for the people of Akwa Ibom state and assured that his joint ticket with Senator Bassey Albert Akpan would bring dividends of good governance as well as peace and unity to Akwa Ibom State.
