2023 C’ River Guber Election: Youth leader forcast victory for PRP governorship candidate
As tension continues to mount over who and which party will grab the governorship position in Cross River State during the 2023 general elections, A youth leader and political stakeholder in Calabar Municipal Council in Cross River State, Mr. Cyril Ekpenyong aka Million has revealed that the former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, Ph.D., the Governorship candidate of peoples Redemption Party (PDP) is the candidate to beat at the polls in 2023.
Mr. Ekpenyong disclosed this in a chat with LENS Reporter that pastor Usani while serving as Cross River State Commissioner for Agriculture influenced the actualization of the World Bank Assisted water project in the state which enhanced the provision of clean and potable drinking water in Cross River State.
Again, Usani as a progenitor of viable opposition from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) had facilitated the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 elections by campaigning in the state against the popular wish of the then government in power who worked against APC even to denying them the use of U.J Esuene Stadium.
Ekpenyong attributed the execution of multiple projects by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs projects in Cross River State to his effort and called on the electorates to vote for Usani because of his human and infrastructural antecedents to restoring Cross River State to her Canaan City and Tourism Destination in Nigeria, contending that any attempt to rig the election may play out the Imo State scenario where the Supreme Court decided the authentic winner of the governorship election in 2023.
