2023: Cleric says God will choose a man after His heart to rule Nigeria
A cleric, Pastor Stephen Akpanke of Temple of Fruitfulness aka Arena of Solutions, Signs, and Wonders has posited that contrary to the expectations of many observers, God will choose a man after His own heart to rule Nigeria.
This remark is not unconnected with the political tension arising from intrigues and political horse-trading already brewing as 2023 nears for general elections to elect people into the various political offices in the country.
Pastor Akpanke who barred his mind in an exclusive chat with LENS Reporter in the church Auditorium at Plot 36, Obo Effiom Street off Atimbo Road, Calabar, Cross River State on Wednesday said that though many prophets have prophesied and political pundits predicted what will be the outcome of the polls, the sovereign God who intervened in 1993 when the country was at a tipping point due to the annulment of the June 12 elections believed to have been won by Chief M.K.O Abiola/Ambassador Bagana Kingibe ticket on the platform of the SDP and the resulting stop-gap administration of Chief Ernest Shonekan.
The cleric referenced 1st Samuel 16:10-12 “Again Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these, And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said there remaineth yet the youngest and behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him, for we will not sit down till e come hither, and he sent, brought him in. now he was ruddy withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise anoint him for this is he”.
He said God looks at the hearts of men and not their physical or political antecedents to anoint leaders as in 1st Samuel 16:7 “The lord does not look at the things people look at, people look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart”.
In addition, he said that Nigerians on both divides should learn from history and allow the perfect will of God to prevail to avoid chaos in fourth coming 2023 elections.
Akpanke ended by saying that since September is the month of testimony contrary to the fear exhibited by people from some quarters, the Lord who is faithful will lead the country to a successful end as the campaign by political parties begin on the 28 day of September overlooking February 25, 2023, Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
He said there is no need to be afraid of the ember months as it is in our mindset and psyche being a period that is choked with activities.
