2023 General Elections: Senator Bassey Akpan dumps PDP

Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Albert Bassey Akpan, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Akpan, who made this known in a letter to his ward chairman, said he defected to contest for the governorship of Akwa-Ibom State on the platform of another party.

He said the action is with the greatest sense of responsibility, purpose, and love for his people that he took the bold step.

Observers though associate the remote reason of his action to the court rulling today, Friday in Abuja.
