2023: Labour Party announces Datti as Obi’s vice
The Labour Party has officially announced Datti Ahmed founder of Baze University Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano, as Peter Obi’s running mate for the 2023 Presidential Election. Peter Obi made the announcement on Thursday, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
This follows the withdrawal of Doyin Okupe from the race in a letter he personally signed and sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission. Labour Party had picked the former presidential aide and DG Peter Obi’s campaign team as a placeholder to enable it to meet the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Datti Ahmed who is a former presidential aspirant under the leading opposition party, PDP, also served in the two houses of the National Assembly and holds at least four degrees.
