2023 Presidential Election: Cleric calls for national day of prayers

Ahead of the 2023 presidential polls in Nigeria to elect a credible person that will salvage the country from the lingering wave of banditry, terrorism, civil unrest by ethnic militias and other social unrest, a cleric pastor Adejuwon Ojebuoboh has called for a national day of prayers by Christian and Muslim faithful to seek the face of God for a solution to the problems bedeviling the nation.

The clergy from God’s Possibility Christian Centre at Atimbo road in Calabar made the suggestion in an exclusive conversation with LENS reporter on salient national issues. The meeting was held in the LENS office along Marian road Extention in Calabar.

He said that the call by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) for an Interim National Government, a stop-gap measure earlier adopted after the annulment of the June 12, 1993 elections as well as the recent comment by the first lady of Lagos State Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu that Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder because of the lingering ASSU strike are enough grounds for Nigeria to do the needful before it is too late.

And referencing 2nd Chronicle 7:14, Ojebuoboh called on the federal government to listen to the voices of reason like the position of HRM the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Saad Abubakar on security in order to diminish insurgency and other vices retarding the progress of Nigeria.
