Their confirmation followed the report of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public, and Ethics upon thorough screening of the nominees were presented to the House for ratification.
The speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Eteng Williams in his remark advised the nominees to Justify their nomination as members of Governor Ayade’s cabinet and said the committee report showed that the nominees were found worthy to be appointed as Commissioners and members of the state Executive Council, having met the constitutional threshold to be so nominated.
But a prominent politician from Northern Cross River State who spoke on condition of anonymity said Mallam Musa’s appointment is a ploy by Governor Ayade to woe the Housa/Fulani Muslim Community to vote for him as Senatorial candidate on the APC ticket in the 2023 general elections. He is contesting with Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, the incumbent Senator in the red chamber of the National Assembly.
