Christians admonished to be courageous in times of sorrow

Christians have been admonished to imbibe the spirit of courage even when faced with tragic situations.

The lead pastor of Blessed-Hope Gospel Ministry Inc, Gabriel Joseph, gave the admonition in the thanksgiving service to God for the success of the funeral/memorial service in honour of late Assistant Director of Nursing in University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Evangelist Bassey A. Iyadim, held on Sunday May 12, at the church auditorium, No. 9c Effanga Offiong street, off Edibe-Edibe road, Calabar.

Referencing Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for your God is with you wheresoever you go, implored Christians to always develop spiritual shock-absorber when faced with the challenges of life by always giving thanks to God who is able to wipe away tears in times of sorrow as in the tragic loss of a loved one.

The event climaxed in the obsequies of late Evangelist Bassey Amboni Iyadim, conducted by Blessed Hope Gospel Ministry Inc. at Cross River Basin Development Field, 8 Miles, Calabar officiated by Evang. Ime John Bassey and other gospel ministers.

Condolence messages were received from Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr., Chairman Senate Committee on NDDC and Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Engr. Bassey Nkposong, FNSE, Managing Director of Cross River Basin Development Authority, Elder Mrs. Arit Francis Ironbar, Director/Head of Department of Nursing Services (UCTH).

The deceased aged 59 is survived by Chief Hon. Iyadim Amboni Iyadim, former Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area and Mr. Nakanda Amboni Iyadim of Press Corp, Governors office, Calabar among other siblings, children, in-laws, nieces and nephews to mourn her death.
