Cleric harps on Jesus Christ as reason for Easter in his sermon

The lead Pastor of the Gospel Deliverance Ministry International Pastor James John has described the trial, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the reason for Easter celebration as significant atoning for the sins of humanity.
Pastor John said that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for the atonement of the sins of mankind was a rare act of love without which humanity would have no hope of life after death.

And while fielding questions from a LENS Reporter on Saturday, April 8 in the church auditorium at Gospel House, plot 14, Ntufam Donatus street, Calabar, he referenced 1st Corinthians 5:7 “For indeed Christ, our Passover was sacrifice for us,” saying that Jesus Christ became the Passover lamb for the church hence the celebration of Easter.

He posited that if people elected into political offices see themselves as leaders instead of rulers, Nigeria would have been a better place to live-in rather than what is obtained now where sin, corruption and insecurity is the order of the day. He used the occasion to call for total repentance and forgiveness for Grace to abound.

The Gospel Deliverance Ministry according to him is a church where challenges end in testimonies because of the wave of the Holy Spirit during ministrations.
