Cleric says man is like pencil in the hand of God
Man created by God are like pencils in his hand was the message of the Diocesan Bishop Maxwell John Akpan of Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Church through the officiating minister at the funeral/ Memorial Service in honour of late Rev. Okokon Edet Ekpenyong on Friday May 31st 2024 in Western Calabar District, Ukem Urua Etak Uyo, Creek Town, Odukpani Local Government Area, Cross River State.
Akpan averred that life is like a cash register where every account deed like sales is registered and recorded and man like pencils in the hands of the Almighty can be canceled anytime there is a mistake with the eraser attached to it, hence, man needs to be accountable in everything we do while on earth.
Referencing Job 14:5 “Since his days are determined and the number of his months is with you, and have appointed his limited that he cannot pass, “ stressed that every mortal should, no matter what or who we are in life should know that there is a time and end to everything which is death.
Late Rev. Okokon Edet Ekpenyong who passed on at the age of 75 was a retired soldier and which upon obtaining a degree in theology was ordained a Reverend Minister in Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Church.
In their separate eulogies at the funeral, the Children, Umo, Rose, Ita Okokon and Etim described their late father as a strict disciplinarian but a humble and loving father who would be greatly missed.
Condolence message were received from the Nigerian Legion and Association of Primary School Head Teacher of Nigeria (AOPHSON )among others.
His remains was interred in his country home at Ukem, Urun Etak Uyo , Creek Town, Odukpani L.G.A, Cross River State.
Among the dignitaries at the occasion was Engr. Edet Udoh, MNATE, COREN, Chief Executive Officer GAPATECT NIGERIA LIMITED, Calabar.
