Commercial transport regulatory agency call for calm over rift with cab operators in Calabar
The recent complaint about anonymity by Mini Bus drivers under the aegis of High Way Eight Miles Mini Bus Drivers Welfare Association of Cross River State that officials of the Commercial Transport Regulatory Agency otherwise known as 100 Marian has earned the attention of Sir, Gabriel Adah the Chairman of CTRA.
The drivers who complain of being manhandled by CRTA officials, beat them endangering passengers’ lives in an attempt to collect vehicle keys from them say what was called a lower class job is now threatened and may face extinction, especially in Calabar if urgent steps are not taken by the government to control their aggressive mode of operation.
Elder Gabriel Adah in his reaction in a phone chat with LENS Reporter in Calabar on Monday after Hit 95.9 FM news promised to consult with the relevant agencies to address the anomaly while urging the drivers to observe and obey stipulated regulations put in place by the government to sanitize the road transportation system in the state.
