Cross River 2023: Deputy Speaker vows to floor incumbent National Assembly member

The Deputy speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey has vowed to defeat Rt. Hon. Apostle Essien Ayi, member representing Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly in 2023 general elections.

Bassey said this in a chat with LENS Reporter on Tuesday while stressing his resolve to turn things around leveraging his achievement as a member representing Calabar South II State constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The lawmaker who is contesting to represent the Calabar South, Akpabuyo and Bakassi Federal constituency under the All Progressives Congress platform has a ranking member Rt. Hon. Apostle Ayi of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. Dominic Aqua Edem of the Labour Party among others to wrest the slot.

He promised to attract federal projects to his constituency as well as deliver dividend of democracy to the people at the grass root thereby impacting their livelihoods.
