Cross River NCS Command Frowns at Attacks on Security Agencies

The Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has expressed displeasure over attack on security agencies in the country stressing that it retards growth and development of the country.

Rev. Ben-Rabbi Freedman, the new controller in the state spoke when he paid a courtesy visit to the Natural Ruler and Treaty king, the Obong of Calabar Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V. in his palace.

He believes that the general security challenges in the country have been over stretched due to the stress; anger and frustration experienced by Nigerians that is now transferred on attacking security agencies which is wrong.

Rev. Ben-Rabbi Freedman said that the major enemy of the Federal Government today and that of the society is threat of life and assured that the security agencies were doing their best to contain the situation.

The Cross River State (NCS) Controller frowned at the attitude of some Nigerians on the security agencies which they wrongly believe that their services were insignificant to the society.

Rev. Ben –Rabbi Freedman further disclosed that he is in a hurry to begin the implementation of NCS Act 2019 and to change the narrative of what it used to be known as Nigeria Prison Service.

The NCS Controller reasoned that government within its limit of available resources cannot provide everything for staff and management of NCS in their daily routine work and appealed to public and private organization to assist the paramilitary service.

Rev. Ben Freedmen said “we are looking for a new Nigeria where the public begin to appreciate and celebrate security agency in the country”.

“The truth is that with the limit of the available resources government cannot provide everything to the personnel of our organization. There lies the need for public spirited and cooperate organization to partner with the Correctional Service because government alone cannot do it all. Those that God has blessed let them assist us.”

“We look forward to our brothers, individual and organization coming around to give assist and to make the society a better place. Life is all about impact. Let’s believe in this country and our state. Let’s try to give and to improve on the fortunes of the state.”

“I am a Nigerian and I do not have another country as Nigeria. Let’s make Nigeria a better country.”

The Obong of Calabar Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V. promised the new Controller Rev. Ben-Rabbi Freedman his support and assured to re-awaken the partnership existed between his palace and the NCS over the years.

Ben Rev Freedmen explained that it was customary for his organization to pay homage to the monarch and to receive his royal blessing as a new Controller in the State.
