Cross River Police Command confirm kidnap of medical doctors, project manager
Just a few days after 9 travelers were kidnapped at Okimita in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State and the narrow escape of a foreigner along Uyanga Rubber plantation, another 3 persons have been abducted by yet-to-be-apprehended gunmen in the state.
Two medical doctors and contract staff with Faith Global International Services Ltd aka Faith plant were abducted by the cultist in Calabar on Friday, November, 18,2022 at about 9 am, when he went to brief his principal, Mr. Michael Asuquo at his residence inside the Summit Hills Estate in he Calabar Municipal Council Area.
An eyewitness report who spoke with LENS on condition of anonymity said “about five armed men drove in a Honda SUV and wearing black camouflage with black Faze caps arrived at Mr. Asuquo’s gate but were not lucky to pick their target due to logistic problems but intercepted the project manager who is the company architect by name Anozeng Egbe and bundled him into a waiting vehicle and zoomed off”.
And confirming the incident, the police Public Relations officer in Cross River State command, SP Irene Ugbo said they would try to track them.
In another development, soldiers in Calabar have assaulted a female Police Traffic Warden in Calabar on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
The men of the Nigerian Army who were in a convoy left the traffic warden bleeding from her head in the incident which occurred at the traffic post along Murtala Muhammad Highway by Mobil filling station.
The victim explained in a video that her offense was that she was performing her lawful duty which angered the military men who were in convoy to attack her.
Effort to contact the military authorities for comment was not feasible as at time of filing this report.
