Cross River State CAN Inaugurate Rev. (Dr.) Caiafas Chapter Chairman
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Cross River State chapter has inaugurated Rev. (Dr.) Takis Etim Caiafas as the Chairman at African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church 13, Diamond Hill Road Calabar on Saturday, March 5th, 2022.
The occasion moderated by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Orok Duke was on behalf of the five blocks in CAN: Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (ESN), Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN)/ Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Organisation of Africa Instituted Churches (OAIC), TEKAN and ECWA Fellowship.
Rev. (Dr.) Caiafas who is the fifth Chairman of CAN in Cross River State was a former Senior Manager with First Bank PLC and Commissioner of Finance in Governor Donald Duke Administration.
In his sermon at the event Bishop. U.U. Effiong, Presiding Prelate A. M.E. Zion Church Nigeria, Eastern West African Episcopal District urged him to feed, see and keep the sheep as a good shepherd referencing John 21:15-18.
The swearing-in performed by most Rev. Dr. Benebo Fubara-Manuel was witnessed by Rev. Barrister Joseph Darmola, National Secretary of CAN, His Excellency Barrister Efiok Cobham, former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, Hon. Eric Anderson, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Etubom Bassey Ndem, Traditional Rulers and Rev. Father Bob Etta, Senior Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade, on Religious Affairs.
Rev. (Dr.) T. E. Caiafas in his acceptance speech promised to fulfill his mandate according to the will of God in tandem with the CAN Constitution.
