Democracy Day: Senator Akpan assures Nigerians of better days under civil rule
Obong Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA), a governorship aspirant in the 2023 general elections has assured a refreshing new era for the Akwa Ibom people in 2023. He felicitates Nigerians on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of uninterrupted civil governance.
In a statement signed by Dr Usoro I. Usoro, the Spokesman for the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Movement of Senator Akpan expressed the confidence that soon, Nigeria will surely emerge stronger from years of depression, hardship, insecurity, and endemic poverty.
While paying glowing tributes to the masses as the ultimate heroes of the democratic struggle, the Senator said his confidence in an improved Nigeria was hinged on the belief that if the ethos and tenets of democracy are strictly adhered to, the society will fair better.
He urged the Akwa Ibom people to remain hopeful that the coming years will afford them the opportunity of a fresh experience in governance, under a new dispensation of his divinely-ordained leadership.
Democracy, he reflects offers the masses the option of choice, alternative views, and a chance to exercise their conscience, rather than being coerced by anyone.
In addition, he charged the people to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) preparatory to the 2023 election and reassured the Akwa Ibom people that he will be on the ballot for the Akwa Ibom governorship election and will win to actualize a new positive vision for the state.
