Environment Commissioner assures PTA of facilitating pruning of tree branches on school roof
The Hon. Commissioner for Environment in Cross River State, Mr. Moses Osogi has promised the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of Government Primary School, Ediba road, Calabar of effecting the cutting-down of tree branches resting on the roof of school building. The assurance is sequel to the request made by the PTA of the school during a courtesy call led by its Chairman Evangelist Emmanuel Archibong.
Mr. Osogi while reacting to the danger the scene portends to the pupils in the event of the branches falling on the school building, thanked the school authority for bringing the ugly development to his notice before calamity happens.
Earlier, the school PTA had written to the Hon. Commissioner to come to their rescue by remedying the situation since February 8, 2024 with a reminder on March 22, 2024.
The PTA chairman thanked the Hon. Commissioner for his kind gesture and and used the occasion to appeal to relevant Non-Governmental Organisations NGOs to build toilet facilities in the school. He as well appreciated an ex-pupil of the school, Apostle (Dr.) James Anam, DG of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for facilitating the sinking of a water-bole hole in the school by the Cross River State First Lady Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoawan Otu in commemoration of her 60th birthday Anniversary.
