Fathers Day 2024: Cleric charges fathers to be resolute in their roles as pillars of families
As the world celebrate Fathers Day on Sunday June 16, 2024, a global event to honour fathers and celebrate fatherhood, parental bonds and the influence of fathers in society, a cleric and lead pastor of Gospel House, The Home of The Gospel Deliverance Ministry International, Pastor James John has admonished fathers to be more resolute in their role as pillars in the family and society.
John gave the charge on Sunday in a sermon he delivered to commemorate the day in Gospel House auditorium, Plot 14 Ntufam Donatus Etim street, Ikot Ansa, Calabar.
And drawing his text from 1st Corinthians 16:13, “watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong” counseled that as fathers, head and pillars in the society they should not despair or relegate their position in the family due to present economic realities in the county but should brace-up to the challenges with faith in God who is able to provide all the family’s needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus.
In her remark, the deputy lead pastor of the church, Evangelist (Mrs.) Dorothy James appealed to children and mothers to obey and give support to their fathers to enable them groom a perfect home where peace, love and presence of God is.
Father’s Day is observed on third Sunday in June of every year. It was first observed in the USA but is now vicarious having been adopted by many countries of the world.
Assistant minister, Pastor Samuel Peters announced The Free at last convention 2024 beginning from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 20th June 2024 with the theme “MARVELOUS HELP,” a happening which seems to be against the Laws of nature; not subject to scientific explanation but a Mighty work of God.
Pastor Peters explained to a LENS Reporter that the annual spiritual convocation is seldom spiced with healings, testimonies, word ministration and songs festival by the church and invited choir under the unction of the Holy Ghost.
