Fmr. NRM official in Cross River salutes fmr. information commissioner on NDDC appointment
The appointment of Former Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Asu Okang as Representative of the state on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Bola Tinubu has been commended by Mathias Amgbah (Matete), the former Deputy Governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Cross River State.
Amgbah made the comment in a telephone conversation with LENS Reporter on Tuesday August 29, 2023 and thanking the president for choosing a vibrant youth like Okang to occupy the enviable position and appealed to the appointee to use his wealth of experience to change the narrative by attracting laudable projects to develop the state.
President Bola Tinubu recently appointed new board and management for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity on Tuesday in Abuja.
The president said appointment of the new board and management took immediate effect with Mr. Chiedu Ebie as Chairman (Delta), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director/CEO (Bayelsa), Mr. Boma Iyaye-Executive Director (Rivers).
Others are Mr. Victor Antai-Executive Director (projects; Akwa Ibom), Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde-Executive Director (corporate services; Ondo) and senator Dimaro Denyanbofa-state Representative- Bayelsa.
Also Mr. Abasi Nkono-State Representative-Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Monday Igbuya-State Representative (Delta) and Chief Tony Okocha-State Representative (Rivers).
Others are Hon. Patrick Aisowieren-State Representative (Edo), Mr. Kyrian Uchegu-State Representative (Imo), Mr. Victor Kolade Akinjo-State Representative (Ondo), Chief Dimgba Eruba-State Representative (Abia) and Mr. Asu Oku Okang, State Representative (Cross River State).
The three zonal members of the board are; Hon. Nick Wende-Zonal Representative (North Central), Hon. Namdas Abdulrazak-Zonal Representative (North-East), Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir-Zonal Representative (North West).
The President charge the new board and management team to berth a new era of successful administration in the NDDC, in line with his “Renewed Hope Agenda” for Nigeria.
