Fmr. Senator joins race for Cross River governorship position in 2023
A former member representing the Southern Senatorial District in the red chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Prince Bassey Otu has officially declared to contest for the office of the governor in Cross River State in the 2023 general elections.
The aspirant nicknamed Sweet Prince ties his campaign around the 196 Council Wards in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state. He is described by stakeholders as the best candidate to have the ticket due to his fraternity with people on the grass root which is a function of his mobilization drive. This approach dates back to when he was a Member Representing Calabar/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
It would be recalled that Prince Otu decamped from the PDP to the Labour Party after he lost the Senatorial slot to Senator Gershom Bassey and later joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) under which platform he is contesting the gubernatorial polls in 2023. Already his posters and stickers are visible on the streets in Calabar the state capital as well as in other parts of the state.
His campaign D.G, Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar confirmed in a chat with a LENS Reporter that his principal is the next governor of Cross River State in 2023 due to his political sagacity.
