“I can stop Ortom, others from realizing their ambition”, Ayu threatens

As the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, deepens, the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, has said he has the power to stop the political ambition of the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and those calling for his resignation.

However, he was quick to add that he opted against such a step to avoid cracks in the PDP.

Ortom and five other PDP governors including Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Ifeanyi Uguanyi of Enugu State had called for Ayu’s resignation after Atiku Abubakar emerged as the party’s presidential candidate.

The governors had said a particular zone could not produce PDP’s National Chairman and presidential candidate.
