The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said that Tuesday’s attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre by terrorists speaks volumes about the failure of the country’s security architecture.

Lawan spoke when he led a delegation of the leadership of the Senate to assess the level of attack on the correctional facility by insurgents.

According to the Senate President, an attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre could only have been possible with the collaboration of insiders within the nation’s correctional system.

He expressed total displeasure with the none functional (CCTV) at the prison.

Other principal officers of the Senate described the attack as very disappointing and a failure of the security system

By way of resolutions, the Senate President tasked security agencies to ensure that the insurgents who escaped from the Kuje medium security custodial center are found and brought back.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari is still insisting that his administration is combating all forms of threats to national security despite the many attacks by terrorists.

The President who spoke through the Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Magashi assured all law-abiding citizens of their safety.

He promises that his administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Nigeria remains united and peaceful.
