Kidnapped naval rating regains freedom
A Naval rating from Cross River State who was kidnapped has regained his freedom after spending days in the camp of the captors..
The rating Damian Ukpukpen is an indigene of Ohong in Obudu Local Government Area in Cross River State and was kidnapped on September 26, 2022, in Benin Edo State.
The soldier was accompanied by a Senior female Naval officer from Warri in Delta State his primary place of assignment to Benin on official duty where the kidnappers stormed the hotel where they lodged in Benin and forcefully took him away at gunpoint demanding 30 million ransom.
He is said to have been released without payment of ransom according to information released.
