Lawmaker seeks return to Cross River State House of Assembly in 2023
As preparations for the 2023 general elections gather momentum, the member representing Calabar State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Effa Esua has vowed to seek re-election on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
The lawmaker made the comment in a chat with LENS Reporter insisting as well that he still remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on which platform he will be contesting the 2023 elections.
In a related development, the Deputy Leader of the Calabar Municipal Council Legislature has promised to contest the Calabar State Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 Elections.
The deputy leader, Hon. Louis Lucas Nyambi while fielding questions from a LENS Reporter lamented the lack of meaningful development in the area due to improper funding, but plans to change the narrative if given the chance to represent his constituents.
In addition, he supported the recent communiqué issued by the Association of Councilors in the State at Ikom which threatened to jump-ship if the government fails to address their grievances relative to impacting the people of Ward 6 in Calabar Municipal Council Area.
