NEWMAP commended for remedial work by Etim Ekpo Cresent resident

Residents of Etim Ekpo Cresent in Ikot Uduak erosion vicinity have commended Governor Ben Ayade’s effort in gingering Newmap to expedite work on the gully erosion ravaging the area.

Speaking to LENS correspondent on condition of anonymity, a resident thanked the Cross River State government for providing enabling environment for the contractor on-site to provide remedial measures to scale back the impact of the gully erosion on the community.

In another development, some aggrieved youths in the community have frowned at the government’s failure to provide agreed empowerment for them to cushion the effects of the erosion which has pulled down houses and economic trees in the area.

It would be recalled that few landlords in Ikot Uduak near the Timber Market axis had earlier lamented the slow pace of work which they say has affected their going-in and coming-out using their vehicles.

However, an engineer with the construction company executing the project has assured of a timely completion before the rains sets in to roll back the progress achieved so far.
