OBA mourns late National Assembly lawmaker Nse Bassey Ekpenyong

It was a sober moment for the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA), as he joined Honorable Members of the National Assembly at the obsequies of their colleague, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Nse Bassey Ekpenyong.

Senator Akpan, leader, Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the National Assembly attended the funeral and thanksgiving service held in honour of the late politician on Thursday, June, 30, at the Oron Township Stadium, Oron, Akwa Ibom State.

The Senator in his condolence message described Hon. Nse Ekpenyong as a very effective and impactful representative of the Oron Federal Constituency, who was outstanding in his legislative duties. He prayed to the Almighty God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss as well as give the departed soul peaceful rest.

In a biography read at the event, the late Elder Nse Ekpenyong who died at the age of 58 was described as sociable, a successful businessman, politician par excellence, community leader, and a devoted Christian.

The funeral and thanksgiving service was conducted by Sanctified Mount Zion Church, Oron Township Assembly.

Until his demise, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Nse Bassey Ekpenyong was the serving Member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
